Ghost Tree #4 (IDW): There was a ton of competition this week amid the #SDCC dump (Little Bird #5, Black Science #41, Silver Surfer: Black #2), but the final issue of Ghost Tree wraps up a special book that ruminates on life, and I'd kill to have Simon Gane illustrate one of my books.

Black Hammer/Justice League #1 (Dark Horse): It was pretty slim pickings this week, but this was a fun read that examines and even subtly satirizes the very tropes it's crossing over with.

Lois Lane #1 (DC): If you're a fan of Rucka gems with procedural bits or basic tradecraft like Queen & Country, Gotham Central, or Checkmate, this will scratch the itch in a way that's not overly-reliant on capes.
